B. OVERVIEW AND EXPECTATIONS
This Employee Information Guide was written especially for you, an employee of GHHC. It includes information you will need to get started on the job, our expectations, and some of the policies and practices you will be expected to follow. As with any new job, you will have many questions about the company and your day-to-day activities. This guide is designed to help answer those questions. In time, there may be changes to the information in this guide. Changes will be posted, or your supervisor will keep you informed of changes as they occur, and answer questions not answered here. This Employee Information Guide is not, however, an employment contract. It is not intended to give any expressed or implied right to continued employment. You or the GHHC can end the employment relationship at any time for any reason, with or without cause or notice. No representative of GHHC, other than its CEO, has the authority to enter into an expressed or implied agreement for employment for a specified period.
C. MANAGEMENT PHILOSOPHY.

D. STANDARDS OF SERVICE.
The standard of service for GHHC is focused on our customers – the individuals we serve, their families, and other visitors. Each employee should strive to exceed these expectations:

variety of needs.
E. EXPECTATIONS.
1. Abide by all policies and practices. This will ensure accurate delivery of services is provided to the individual we serve. You should strive to provide quality service and feel good about a job well done.
2. Be courteous and helpful. Treat everyone as you would like to be treated. Make certain everyone you encounter, the individuals we serve, your co-workers, and visitors, receive consideration and superior service.
3. Be a good listener. Whether you are dealing with an individual we serve or a co-worker, listen to his/her point of view. Understand occasional frustration or anger.
4. Be responsible. If you make a promise, keep it. For the individuals we serve, dependable service may mean the difference between life and death.
5. Be a team player. Try to understand exactly how your work affects others.
6. Ask questions. It is important to stay informed about our Company and to know your responsibilities. Ask your supervisor questions about your job and company policy.
7. Dress neatly and appropriately. The way you dress reflects not only how you feel about yourself, but also how you feel about our Company and the individuals we serve.
8. Maintain a clean and safe work area.
9. Be always an Ambassador for GHHC. Remember that you are our most important public relations representative.
F. ETHICS.
As an employee of GHHC, you are expected to adopt a high standard of conduct in the performance of your duties. Treat the individuals we serve and your co-workers with dignity and respect. Observe all policies and practices. Use Company property for authorized business only. It is always more gratifying to work in an atmosphere of integrity and trust. GHHC does not allow individual employees to accept tips or gifts from individuals we serve, their family members, or from companies we do business with or their representatives. Gifts are to be returned with the explanation that Company policy does not permit their acceptance.
G. PROHIBITION OF HARASSMENT.
GHHC policy and federal and state law prohibit harassment of any employee or applicant for employment, male or female. Such harassment includes conduct such as slurs, jokes, intimidation, or another verbal or physical attack upon a person because of race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, disability, or veteran status. All employees are responsible for conducting themselves in a business-like manner, which provides respect for others. Any behavior or action which is coercive, intimidating, disruptive, harassing, or sexual in nature, is inappropriate and prohibited. This guideline applies to all business or related interactions among employees, applicants, supervisors and managers, vendors, visitors…etc. Unwelcome sexual advances, requests for sexual favors, and other verbal or physical conduct of a sexual nature constitute sexual harassment when:
A. Submission to such conduct is made, either implicitly or explicitly, as a term or condition of an individual’s employment (e.g., promotion, training, compensation, benefits…etc.).
B. submission to or rejection of such conduct by an individual is used as the basis for employment decisions affecting such individuals.
C. Such conduct has the purpose or effect of unreasonably interfering with an individual’s work performance or creating an intimidating, hostile, or offensive working environment.
Any employee or applicant for employment who believes he/she has been subjected to harassment is responsible for immediately reporting, in writing or by telephone, the alleged act to his/her supervisor or Human Resources Representative. If the individual is uncomfortable discussing the matter with these representatives, he or she may contact the Director directly. All investigations will be conducted in a discreet and confidential manner. Anyone making a complaint will not be retaliated against, even if the complaint is made in good faith and is not substantiated.
H. CONFLICT OF INTEREST.
It is your duty to report to your supervisor any personal investments or outside business connections that could conflict with the best interest of GHHC, You must not:
1. Engage in any outside activities or enterprise, which could interfere with your job performance.
2. Make investments or perform services in any enterprise where, by the nature of the business, there could be a conflict of interest between you and GHHC or
3. Accept commissions or benefits in any form from any person, firm or company with whom GHHC does business if it could be construed that an attempt to influence GHHC personnel is being made.
I. VISITORS.
Unidentified, unwelcome, or unexpected visitors can be disruptive to the workplace and can even pose a security problem. Because of the nature of our business, we must limit access to our agencies, centers, and offices to visitors who have a clear business purpose, such as vendors, suppliers, and job applicants. Any visitor must have advance approval of the Supervisor. An employee must always accompany visitors while on Company premises.
J. SAFETY.
GHHC is committed to promoting safety and to providing a safe place for you to work. You must always keep safety in mind to minimize accidents and injuries to yourself, the individuals we serve, and other employees. If you see something that is unsafe and could cause an accident, take appropriate action, or inform your supervisor. Please observe all the safety rules in every phase of your work. Use proper lifting techniques. If your job requires you to drive or ride in a Company vehicle or to use your own vehicle while on Company business, always fasten your seatbelt. In the event you sustain injury, regardless of the extent, you must report it immediately to your supervisor.
